How To Install Nginxserver on Ubuntu Step by Step

NginxServer is the most popular web server. And more resource-friendly than Apache, the most case we can use the webserver or reverse proxy.

Prerequisites

First you start the installation nginx-Server .you should have a regular, non-root user with Sudo privileges

Step 1 – Installing Nginx-Server

First, need to update package then start Nginx-server.

    sudo apt update

   sudo apt install nginx

When the installation is completed then start Nginx-server

  1. sudo service nginx start
  2. or
  3. sudo systemctl start nginx

Check status Nginxserver

  1. sudo service nginx status
  2. or
  3. sudo systemctl status nginx
  1. Output
  2. ● nginx.service – A high performance web server and a reverse proxy server
  3. Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/nginx.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
  4. Active: active (running) since Fri 20190823 11:08:12 UTC; 1 days ago
  5. Docs: man:nginx(7)
  6. Main PID: 2369 (nginx)
  7. Tasks: 2 (limit: 1157)
  8. CGroup: /system.slice/nginx.service
  9. ├─2369 nginx: master process /usr/sbin/nginx -g daemon on; master_process on;
  10. └─2380 nginx: worker process

you can see above, the service started successfully open browser and type public You should see the default Nginx landing page:

nginx ubuntu
